# Reporting an incident

If something happens at an event — or around one — that makes you or someone else unsafe or uncomfortable, tell us. Attend has a confidential incident report form that goes directly to Hack Club HQ.

## How to report

1. Click **Report Incident** in the top navigation. (It's also linked from the Attend home page, so it works **even if you can't sign in**.)
2. If you're signed in, your name and email are pre-filled; otherwise fill them in (plus a quick human-verification check). A phone number is optional — it's only used if the team needs more information or to send you updates on your case.
3. Say **what best describes you** (attendee, parent, volunteer, …) and pick the **event**.
4. Choose the **incident type** and a **priority**. Use the **Emergency** priority sparingly — it literally rings the safeguarding team's personal phones.
5. Describe the incident in one line, then add notes — be as thorough as you can. You can attach up to 10 files (photos, screenshots) if they help.
6. **Submit report.**

  **Medical emergency?** Call 911 (or your local emergency number) and get the person help **first**. The form comes after.

## What happens to your report

* Your report is **100% confidential**: it goes directly to Hack Club HQ's safeguarding team and is not accessible to other Hack Club staff members.
* The average response time is a few hours, and someone will follow up using the contact details you gave.

## When should I report?

When in doubt, report. Harassment, bullying, safety hazards, someone breaking the Code of Conduct, something that just felt wrong — the team would much rather hear about something small than miss something big. Reporting on behalf of someone else is also completely fine — file freely and candidly.
